Corruption - A Dangerous Weapon

Introduction

Corruption exists in all levels. People become slaves to this act. This is prevalent even in educational institutions in the name of donations. India has come to a stage where without bribe works to be carried out remains pending. This prevails in every nook and corner of our country. Corruption is nothing but benefit for a particular individual.

Meaning of Corruption :

Corruption is defined by the World Bank and Transparency International (TI) as “the misuse of public office for private gain. This distorts the performance of the government.

Here is a short story about Corruption:

Once upon a time there lived a father with two children in a town. He was working with a private concern. They were living a decent life for years. One day the father was arrested by the police in suspicion of receiving bribe of Rs. 100. He was put behind bars. The father was very anxious about his children’s future . Though they were in their relative’s home they were suffering a lot. They were relegated in their relatives home

The Judge’s Decision :

When the two children went and requested for their father’s release both of them were ill-treated. Though he was good outside he was a corrupted person. He asked a sum of R. 1000 in order to release their father.

How To Reduce Corruption:

Citizens must be educated in anti- corruption and the central government should take steps to eradicate corruption. The new sprouting young citizen can abolish corruption in the following ways :

• We can conduct anti – corruption programs to educate the illiterates in rural areas.

• 5 Pillars is doing fabulous job of promoting 0 currency notes in order to make the poor realize that       giving  bribe to government officials will restrict the improvement of the country .

• There has to be accountability for all the money spent. So that we can have corruption- free India.

Conclusion:

The Government Of India must take necessary action in order to eradicate corruption in our country. If we are careless we gona destroy the growth of India. Let us join hands & work to abolish thorns (corruption) in the society. It is the responsibility of the youth to make India a corruption free society.
